The highest result of education is tolerance. — Helen Keller
1st semester of my last academic year as an undergraduate was stressful as expected. It was all academics for me and I rarely had a social life back then. School’s supposed to be a place where young people are exposed to new, interesting stuff. And of course, you’re supposed to make new friends and hang out with them, having the time of your young life especially on your last year as a student. How I wish things were that simple but there are deadlines to meet, homeworks needed to be accomplished, examinations to be passed
However, this stress prepares you for life. Once you land a job after graduating, there’ll probably be a boss who’ll pester you about deadlines, just like your teacher back in school. Thinking about this doesn’t really bring a smile to your face, but that’s just how our society works. However, it does prepare you for the future. At least you become familiar with it now rather than later. Of course, there’ll be tougher times ahead, but at least they’ll be expected.
And my crusade to save money for our Cebu trip with college friends on our sembreak continues…
